Demo Kitchen Chicken & Rice (sample product)

Ingredients: Chicken, chicken meal, brown rice, chicken fat, salmon oil, flaxseed, taurine, mixed tocopherols.

  1. Chicken

    Good for cats

A named whole meat and a source of animal protein.

  2. Chicken meal

    Good for cats

Chicken with the water removed, about 65% protein. It can supply more protein per gram than fresh chicken, even when fresh chicken is listed first.

  3. Brown rice

    Neutral for cats

A highly digestible grain. Good for dogs. For cats, it adds carbohydrate they don’t require.

  4. Chicken fat

    Good for cats

A named fat. Naming the species makes it traceable, unlike generic “animal fat.”

  5. Salmon oil

    Good for cats

Fat from a named marine source, which can provide the omega-3s EPA and DHA.

  6. Flaxseed

    Neutral for cats

Plant omega-3. Dogs convert some of it to EPA. Cats can’t, so for Luna it’s neutral.

  7. Taurine

    Good for cats

Cats can’t make enough taurine on their own, so they need it from their food.

  8. Mixed tocopherols

    Good for cats

A natural preservative system that keeps the fat from going rancid.

For the ones
who trust us.

Choosing their food can come with a lot of questions. Kiba began with that same curiosity: what’s in the bowl, and what does it mean for the pet beside us?

We’re making food labels easier to understand, so fellow pet owners can approach everyday choices with a little more clarity.

A few good
questions.

Is Kiba for dogs, cats, or both?

Both. Each pet has their own profile, and Kiba uses their species and profile information to put food results in context.

What does a food match mean?

A match reflects Kiba’s assessment of the available food information in the context of your pet’s profile. It is a way to explore a food, not a guarantee of a health outcome.

Does Kiba replace advice from my vet?

No. Kiba helps you understand food labels and keep useful pet records. Your veterinarian is the right person for diagnosis, treatment, or a prescribed diet.

Do brands influence the food score?

Kiba’s scoring is brand-blind. Affiliate links do not affect a food’s score.

What requires membership?

The Health Journal is free. The dietary and health-history PDF report for veterinary visits requires membership, as do some other features. Check membership details in the app for the current options.
